Clinical Supervision

We offer BPS accredited clinical supervision for organisations and professionals working with autistic people, meeting the three core principles of insight, integration and innovation.

Our Director, Allison Ward, is available for clinical supervision sessions on a one off or regular basis, having completed the BPS Approved Certificate in Clinical Supervision and SDS Accreditation in Clinical Supervision Level 1.

Supervision provides a open space to focus on professional development and wellbeing. Whilst originally reserved for those working in healthcare professions, research suggests supervision is invaluable for teachers (Bencherab & Maskari, 2020) and social care (Stanley, 2018)

Benefits of Supervision, according to the Health and Care Professions Council:

  • allows professionals to continually reflect on practise and think analytically about their work

  • provides a time and space for reflection of what has gone well and what can be improved

  • can help professionals learn from mistakes and gain insight to improve service provision

  • provides evidence for CPD

  • can help alleviate workplace pressures including stress, anxiety and burnout

  • reduces staff turnover and improves staff productivity

We can also refer individuals from supervision to one on one coaching sessions if required.

This can include:

1

Environmental Audits

Our team are able to make suggestions regarding environmental changes to reduce anxiety for neurodiverse individuals. This may include carrying out a sensory audit of the space, implementing clear visual navigation guides, or other simple changes that can make a space more accessible.

2

Supporting Student Needs

We are able to review and assist in the development of Behaviour Support Plans and One Page Profiles, review Education Health Care Plans, and carry out individual sensory audits for young people with sensory challenges.

3

Reasonable Adjustments

Our team can help educate and suggest reasonable adjustments to improve the wellbeing of everyone using your service. For example, this may include the use of visual timetabling, promoting routines, discovering exit strategies and developing easy read resources and promotional materials.
